I’m Kelsey, a freelance writer covering stories about science and the environment.

For me, writing isn’t an act of sitting alone at a desk. Writing inspires me to go out and engage deeper with the world. As such, I’ve learned to decode the green in landscapes and the lines on rocks. I’ve ventured off the beaten path in our national parks, bumped into nature within video games, and spent a day as a farmhand—ready with questions, curiosity, and a notebook. And I’ve had the honor to speak with a number of conservationists, scientists, and researchers along the way. It’s impossible to know and learn everything. But writing is my way to try to glean as much about the world as I can.
